"When you need a friend, don't look to a stranger,
You know in the end, I'll always be there.
But when you're in doubt, and when you're in danger,
Take a look all around, and I'll be there."

Places I've Traveled

Hong Kong SAR, China (6/2000)
--My favorite place in the world. Home to the people who fight to pay for the tab at dinner. Yau Ma Tei, home of the Jade Market, where my grandparents lived, and the location of the world's highest population density. Where else in the world do people actually have to be afraid of being run over by foot traffic? If you like to live hard and fast, this is the place.
Xi'An (Chang'An), China (6/2000)
--Ancient Capital of China. Home of the Terra Cotta Warriors ("bing ma yun" aka Soldier Horse People). Very rural, yet blended with modernity. Lots of curiousities here, like a famous HuaQing hot spring.
Beijing, China (6/2000)
--Great Wall, Jiankou Pass, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, 13 Ming Tombs, Forbidden City, WangFuJing shopping, Tianamen Square, and much more.
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (1985)
--We went here in 1985 to see the World Expo(sition). Stayed with Janet Chow.
New York City, NY, USA
--Nothing to say here. Stayed at the Hilton right in the heart of Manhattan
Buffalo, NY, USA
--Niagara Falls, Corning Glass Plant
Orlando, FL, USA
--Disney World, Busch Gardens, Sea World, etc.
London, England
--Stayed at the Grosvenor. It was okay.
Paris, France
--Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Louvre, etc.
Calais, France
--Port of Calais, where the hovercrafts dock across the English Channel.
Cannes, France
--Can we say, "oops, got off the Eurail too soon"
Nice, France
--Great city, a little too expensive to live here. Great view of the Mediterranean.
Zurich, Switzerland
--Great views. Great place.
Florence, Italy
--Leather galore
Rome, Italy
--Vatican City, ruins, ruins, and more ruins
Venice, Italy
--Great city, if you like water.
Munich, Germany
--Home of the Olympics many years ago and of course, the BMW Museum.
Frankfurt, Germany
--Flight back to the USA.
Garden City, KS, USA
--Nothing to say here. Went to Albertsons Supermarket a lot. BORING!
Wyoming, USA
--Yellowstone, Gillette, Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons, Rafting on the Snake River. Nothing more to say here. Boring midwest stuff.
Black Hills, SD, USA
--Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Sturgis. Again boring midwest stuff.
